Research – call for ideas

Posted on 24 June 2016

We would welcome your views on research topics and questions you think we should ask to help understand gambling-related harm and how it can be reduced.

In April we published the National Responsible Gambling Strategy. This aims to minimise gambling-related harm and sets out a range of priority actions for a range of stakeholders, as well as gambling businesses themselves.

The strategy recognises the need to carry out more research and evaluation to improve understanding, knowledge and evidence. We are currently drawing up a prioritised programme of research to achieve this. It will be published in September, and refreshed annually. Sir Chris Kelly said:

“I was very pleased by the broad support received when we consulted on the National Responsible Gambling Strategy. I would value any further input from our stakeholders on the key issues that they think subsequent research should focus on to support our efforts to minimise gambling-related harm”
